Apologies to all on the myperfectparty web site this evening - we’ve just been inundated with visitors tonight, and our server environment is struggling to keep up. We’ve just cached all that we can cache, so hopefully this will see you all through until the polling booths open on Saturday morning. And remember: vote early, vote often! AB
Apologies for the inconvenience…
Bikes and Cars are ‘go’. Wine and Beer next…
We’re really proud to announce the beta launch of myperfectbike.com.au AND myperfectcar.com.au - both in ‘beta’, which for our purposes means that we’re still populating the databases full of the best bikes and cars Australia has to offer - but for now, you’re free to play with the sites, and find your perfect ‘mode of transportation’. Next week, we’ll be launching the two sites that have been much requested: beer and wine. Our two gurus, Peter Collings, and Adrian Nardi, are both up to their eyeballs in data entry right now, but should surface sometime in the next couple of day - more than likely with a slight hangover.
myperfectphone.com.au launches
myperfectphone.com.au was launched in ‘beta’ today, the first of a raft of ‘my perfect’ following the successful launch of myperfectparty.com.au.
My Perfect Phone aims to assist people in choosing which mobile phone to purchase - by slowly answering questions until just one perfect phone remains. There are 50 mobile phone to select from in this first iteration, with another 50 being added to that number this week.

My Perfect Party is an exciting new web site, created to help ‘the Australian public’ choose who they might like to vote for in the Federal Election.
———
Is the online election getting far too complicated? Don’t panic - we have the solution: myperfectparty.com.au sorts out the wheat from the chaff to reveal your ‘perfect’ political party in a serious yet light-hearted way.
It’s an easy site to use: by clicking on answers to over 50 topics, visitors to the site can watch an election-night style graph of 23 political parties slowly take shape. The graph swings up and down based upon their responses to topics such as: climate change issues, economic issues, and international relations issues.
A separate two-party preferred graph shows Labor vs Liberal with percentages of the ‘vote’, and makes predictions about the likely winner, all based on the responses of the visitor.
At any time during the questions and answers, visitors can click on the leading party to show a summary of the official policies submitted by that party, as well as show popular online resources where visitors can explore the latest news about their ‘perfect party’.
“It’s a highly addictive web site: even when you’ve found your perfect party, you can go back through it again and again, answer the questions differently, and find out how it changes the results of your perfect party”, said Andrew Ballard, creator of the ‘My Perfect’ Network of web sites.
“myperfectparty.com.au is both a serious resource for comparing the policies of 23 political parties against a huge range of issues - and yet it’s also a fun tool to see how well you are suited to some parties you may not have considered - or to check if the major parties really represent your point of view.”
The site is a free resource, independently owned and operated, and could well be the biggest water-cooler-discussion/barbeque stopper of the online campaign.
My Perfect Party: so many parties, so little time.

About the ‘My Perfect’ Network.
‘My Perfect’ is a growing network of sites that fall into a new class of search engines called ‘choice engines’ - putting the knowledge of a real-life expert into a web site, to freely allow people to turn complex decisions into simple question-and-answer steps.
Beginning with myperfectparty.com.au, a guide for selecting who to vote for in the 2007 Federal Election, the Network will be rolling out 12 more sites in 2007 and plans for 30 more speciality sites in 2008, including: myperfectcar.com.au, myperfectcareer.com.au and myperfectcamera.com.au
The main focus of the ‘My Perfect’ Networks of web sites is helping people find their ‘perfect’ product or service, and then assisting them in sourcing that product or service from a variety of online businesses.
Built by a two-man design/IT/marketing consultancy called ReBusiness, the Network is rapidly emerging across many different sectors as an innovative, human alternative to current ‘hunt and hope’ search engine technology.
